A security guard was cut in the neck by glass after police said gun shots pierced the front door of a Mott Haven restaurant.
It happened just before 11 p.m. on Saturday at Ruinas de Copan Restaurant on Brook Avenue near East 147th Street.
Police said the 28-year-old victim is expected to be OK.
The restaurant declined to comment.
Surveillance video from a bodega next door showed five people running inside the convenance store for safety when the shots rang out.
A bodega worker said the group was the intended target.
Employees at a nearby business told News 12 they heard four or five shots, ran to lock their front door and hid behind the counter.
News 12 found five bullet holes on Sunday – one in the restaurant door, two in the bodega window and two more in the driver's door of the car parked out front.
Another surveillance video from a nearby house showed police officers rushing to the scene, but the homeowner said the gunman was already gone.
The woman said her husband saw the shooter running up East 147th Street.
As of Sunday evening, it is unclear what led to the shooting.
The NYPD said they’re still searching for the gunman. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
