Two men were shot outside the Kingsborough Houses in Crown Heights Sunday night — one was struck in the head.
It happened around 9:30 p.m. near Building 253 in the complex. Neighbors told News 12 they saw a group of people hanging out earlier that evening, and just minutes later, they heard gunfire.
Police say a 22-year-old man was shot in the head and taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. As of Monday afternoon, there’s still no update on his condition.
A 40-year-old man was also shot in the leg. He was taken to Interfaith Hospital by someone else and is expected to be OK.
Shell casings were found on the sidewalk and in the street. Crime scene investigators were at the scene for hours collecting evidence. At one point, police tape stretched to a nearby playground.
One neighbor who heard the shots told News 12 what she witnessed next:
“I heard somebody like, ‘Oh he's hit - they got him, they got him, they shot him,’ and everybody was just freaking out.”
No arrests have been made as of Monday afternoon.
