A year after launching a redesigned bus network, Norwalk officials say ridership has increased by 30%.

The city's transit system consolidated 14 bus routes into seven as part of the overhaul.

Local leaders say the changes have improved service and helped attract more riders.

Officials also credited the more than 100 drivers and staff members who keep the system operating each day.

The city marked the one-year milestone this week.
