According to a statement released by the superintendent, Ocean Torres was a bright and cheerful presence at school, known for arriving each day with a smile and a story about his morning.
The child is remembered for his love of spending quality time with his grandmother and siblings.
The school district is also offering support services for students, staff, and parents affected by the loss. A crisis team has been assembled to provide assistance.
