A fire broke out in a nine-story apartment building in downtown Stamford Friday, fire officials say.
It happened around 11:40 p.m. at 44 Bedford St.
Firefighters quickly arrived on scene and found smoke and flames from the top floor balcony.
A Stamford Public Safety drone unit was used to stream video of the fire to the city's Combined Emergency Communications Center.
A total of 40 fire department personnel responded.
"Due to the time of day and location of this fire, the immediate efforts of Stamford firefighters prevented any injuries to the residents of this building and contained fire damage to the area of origin," said Deputy Fire Chief and Incident Commander Matt Palmer.
It's not clear what started the fire.
