New Jersey Transit says old, foggy windows on its train cars will be replaced earlier than initially planned.
NJ Transit officials said it would have taken six to eight years to replace 13,000 windows under the original plan. But president and CEO Kris Kolluri says the project will only take three years to complete.
"I want to thank our customers. You know, sometimes you think that the feedback you give does not get heard. This is proof positive of an instance in which we not only heard your feedback, but we're doing something about it and doing something about it quickly,” Kolluri says.
He says the replacement project will cost $18.5 million to complete.
