Despite today's rain, New York state has upgraded the Hudson Valley region's drought status from "watch" to "warning."
Local communities urge residents to restrict non-essential water usage.
        Conservation tips include:
        • Taking shorter showers
        • Turning off water while brushing teeth
        • Checking for leaks
        • Using dishwasher and washing machine for full loads
        • Reusing collected rainwater
The Village of Goshen is restricting outside water usage from 5-8 p.m. and the Rockland County Department of Health is also encouraging water reduction.
