A mural of Kobe Bryant and his daughter is being taken down due to construction.
The mural is steps away from the Barclays Center, and was made in February 2020, following Bryant's, and his daughter Gianna's, death.
The mural's artist, Efren Adaluz says this was not only to honor Bryant's basketball legacy, but to make sure thousands of people could see it every day.
“I felt like I needed to do something. I felt like the fans in New York needed a piece, a mural, and that was how I expressed how I was feeling,” said Andaluz.
The landlord of the building says the construction is to build a Walgreens.
He says he is salvaging as much of the mural that he can so Andaluz can carry on the mural's legacy.
Andaluz is searching for the mural's new home and is asking local organizations interested to help out.
