Police say a masked man robbed a bank in Brooklyn's Bay Ridge neighborhood on Saturday afternoon.

According to the NYPD, the robbery occurred inside Empire State Bank at 8701 Third Ave.

Investigators say a man in his 30s walked into the bank just after 12:30 p.m. and demanded money from a teller.

The teller handed over $1,600 to the man, who police say did not display a weapon.

According to detectives, the man then exited the bank and ran away, traveling northbound on Third Avenue with the cash.

No one was injured during the robbery, investigators say.

The NYPD described the suspect as approximately six feet tall with short blonde hair. Police say he was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, a black medical mask and carrying a black plastic bag.
