Suffolk County police are investigating after they said a man was found shot inside a Selden apartment early this morning.

Police responded to the unit around 5:15 a.m. at 111 College Road. The complex is a mile away from Suffolk County Community College's campus.

"There were about 10 cop cars all around," resident Mike O'Leary said. "Cars lined up all over here and all over here."

The man was taken to the hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

Police have not yet released any information about the victim's identity, if they've taken anyone into custody, or a possible motive.

"It's just unusual for this location," Selden resident John Ulrick said. "I'm just surprised."

News 12 reached out to Fairfield Properties for comment, but hasn't received a response at this time.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
