A man was fatally struck by a train Saturday night in Longwood, according to police.

Authorities say it happened just before 12 a.m. at the intersection of Southern Boulevard and Freeman Street.

Train service was initially suspended between 3rd Avenue, 149th Street and East 180th Street. However, service has since been restored in both directions.

Officials say residual delays are expected.
