A man convicted of raping a Bronx woman in 2011 is charged again - this time for allegedly attacking a woman on Randall’s Island.
Miguel Jiraud was 16 years old when he raped a woman inside a Melrose apartment building.
He was sentenced to 12 years in prison and was recently released.
The now-30-year-old man was back in police custody on Friday.
He screamed his innocence while walking out of the 29th Precinct in handcuffs.
Jiraud is serving 17 years on parole for first-degree rape after investigators said he strangled a Bronx woman inside of an elevator, threatened to kill her then raped her on a rooftop in Melrose in 2011.
Now, police said Jiraud viciously attacked 44-year-old Diana Agudelo earlier this week on Randall’s Island.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch called it a “horrific assault” on the single mother from Queens.
“She received immediate medical attention and is currently in the hospital fighting for her life,” Tisch said. “We had a very aggressive investigation, and we have identified a person that we believe to be responsible for that assault.”
Jiraud is charged with attempted murder.
