A man was arrested in Camden County after police say he had a loaded crossbow in his vehicle.
The incident happened on Dec. 17 just before 9 p.m. A Berlin police officer conducted a traffic stop on a car for an equipment violation into the Royal Farm’s parking lot at 2 S. White Horse Pike.
Authorities say that the driver was confrontational with officers. When the driver exited the vehicle, officers found a loaded cross bow that was cocked and ready to fire in the front passenger’s area.
Police also found a shot gun in the back seat in plain view. The driver was taken into custody for weapons offense, where authorities also found him with methamphetamine on him and in the car.
Authorities found that the driver did not have proper documents for transporting the firearms nor did he have any valid credentials for hunting.
The man was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a shotgun, one count of unlawful possession of an “other” weapon and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
