All right, we made it to Friday time for Main Street, Connecticut, a chance to showcase our local towns and cities and what they have to offer. This week we're in Stamford, where one local restaurant is celebrating its big 90th anniversary this year. News 12 Connecticut's Mark Suros at Colony Grove. Mark, hey there, Becky. Yeah, 90 years is quite an accomplishment and just look at these delicious pizzas. You got the sausage and pepper, the hot oil, the salad, and the bacon and onion. Joining me this morning, we we already heard from, from Ken Martin earlier in our last hour. We got Jody Centioni is here. She's the general manager here at the Stanford location. What's your favorite pie? My, my personal pie that I love is double onion. Well done, double cut light cheese. OK. You have a breath mint afterwards, I don't. I'm not speaking to any guests when I eat one of those. Now you've seen a lot through here since 1997. You've been here and really this has become quite a gathering place, I would say for people for some special moments. Tell us about that. Absolutely, you know, all the pictures that we have on the wall, we find that many guests come in and they'll wait for a particular table. And then we find their story that above that table is a loved one, father, mother, relative, and they sit there and they honor them and it's wonderful because you see it through generations. They will wait for particular tables to sit and reminisce and enjoy their favorite pizza with their loved one and you've hosted family events here too, right? There's weddings. There have been engagements. Many people have their first pizza in the hospital after giving birth. We have pictures on the wall of guests with pizza boxes on their stomach. And um, myself included, my sister went and bought me a a pizza at the hospital after I gave birth to my daughter 31 years ago. That's amazing. Yes, it's, it's wonderful memories. Now I can sympathize with Ken, you know, he said that since he's been with Colony. Gained a few pounds. What's your favorite pie? Uh, anything that's hot. I feel like I'll eat, but I do like that one on the end there, the sausage and cherry peppers with a little bit of spice and the sausage from Diiulio's which we've been getting for years and years, so that's, that's certainly one of my favorites. What I'm gonna do here is, uh, I'm gonna bring this over to you, OK, so you can partake. You're gonna have a little pizza with us, Jody? early for me, but a little bit early. OK, I'm gonna go back to uh. The old uh hot oil here when I avoid the stinger because that's too hot for me. I mean, I'd be breathing fire afterwards. Oh cheers. Thank you both so much and again if you're in the area, the local county grill in Fairfield and Norwalk and Milford and Port Chester and Stamford and Virginia and just about everywhere else, get some pizza. Let's go. Uh, big congratulations to them. 90 years in the restaurant business is not easy. That's great. It's not easy. It's amazing. Yeah.
