All right. Joining us right now is the Orange County Emergency Services Deputy Commissioner Alan Mack. Thank you so much for being with us today. First, just describe what you're seeing outside your window. Good morning from your area. Tell us where you are and what you're seeing. Right, so I'm at the emergency operations center in the middle of Goshen, and, uh, as I look out the window, it, uh, it's about a half inch of snow. I went in the parking lot before we got on here, and it's about a half inch of very heavy, icy mix of snow and sleet and Just ice pellets, so the roads, as a matter of fact, when I drove in, uh, the road was sort of black ice. I live up toward the north end of 17. And uh my window, my windshield in my car started icing up from the outside in, and the wipers wouldn't keep up with it, so I almost had to pull over to scrape my windows again. It's very uh treacherous out there. Uh, something actually very similar happened to me on my drive in this morning, just kind of showing how dangerous the conditions can be from Orange County to Westchester. Talk to us about what your crews are doing right now, how they're tackling the roads, and your message to people in your community about what they should be doing. Yeah, right now the Orange County DPW guys have all of their trucks, uh, in action. They're dropping a load of salt mixed with sand, uh, because of the icy conditions, and, uh, you know, the snow desk is active. These guys are all over the place right now, uh, doing well. Uh, as a matter of fact, when I get off of you, I have to talk to them. They've been trying to call me, and, uh, if you don't have to drive, please don't, um. It's, it's really slippery out there and if it feels like it's dry, watch out, especially because you get these patches of black ice, especially on the bridges and overpasses. Yeah, such good advice there as we look ahead though to what's coming on Saturday. How are you guys preparing for that? Uh, same way, we're, uh, like right now, the emergency operations center is active and we've got, uh, you know, members from all, uh, walks of life here, you know, Red Cross, utilities, uh, Sheriff's office. So we'll do the same thing for the weekend, uh, if it looks like we're gonna get what they're forecasting. So we'll definitely be prepared for that. DPW is amazing, you know, they'll, they'll have all their trucks in action and, uh. That's all we can do is just kind of monitor it and then deal with it.
