Light snow showers early Saturday followed by relatively nice weekend

The main impact will be slippery conditions, which can be mitigated by salting driveways, steps and walkways tonight before the snow starts.

The News 12 Storm Watch Team is tracking snow moving in late tonight and continuing into the early parts of our Saturday morning.
This will mainly be a low-impact event. There are no major amounts of snow expected - a coating to an inch for the majority of central and North Jersey, with increasing chances for over an inch as we progress more toward the south.
The main impact will be slippery conditions which can be mitigated by salting driveways, steps and walkways tonight before the snow starts.
The timing of the snow looks to start after midnight - more in the 2 a.m. or 3 a.m. timeframe. This will progress through the morning and will likely be out of our area by 10 a.m. Temperatures will be above freezing throughout New Jersey on Saturday, which will allow any accumulation to melt and then refreeze during the night when temps drop below freezing.
Other than that, we are not tracking any major changes in terms of precipitation. Mainly dry conditions next week will be accompanied by the return of cold and wind by Tuesday.
TONIGHT: Low of 28 degrees. On and off snow starting after 2 a.m.
SATURDAY: High of 39, low of 28. Snow clears out early. Sunny by the afternoon.
SUNDAY: High of 40, low of 27. Clouds and sun. Breezy.\
MONDAY: High of 41, low of 27. Sun and clouds.
