The son of a rock icon is transporting people to the Hamptons - one glass at a time.
Jesse Bongiovi, son of the legendary musician Jon Bon Jovi and co-founder of Hampton Water Rosé, visited Stew's Wines & Spirits in Norwalk Wednesday for tasting and bottle signing.
Bongiovi came up with the concept in 2016, inspired by the running joke that "out in the Hamptons, we drink more rosé than water."
A year later, he partnered winemaker Gérard Bertrand before launching the brand in 2018.
Bongiovi says since then, Hampton Water has been highest rated French rosé sold in the U.S.
The wine has also received several accolades and is one of the top selling rosés in the country. "For me rosé is something that is fun, easy to share, it's easy to pop open a bottle and you don't feel like you need to know a ton about wine to still go and buy a great bottle of rosé. Like I said, we just had a love for the category. We had a love for this sort of feeling you get when you pop open a bottle and sitting on the beach, going to a bonfire or going to a little pool," he says.
