A teenager from Wall Township is trying to boost the number of volunteers at fire departments.
Emilee Rible started a recruiting initiative called “Fight Fire With Fire.” It highlights the sometimes-critical shortage of volunteer firefighters. This is an issue that is acute in New Jersey because the state has so many volunteer departments.
Rible received the Girls Scouts Gold Award for her efforts and was recognized by the Monmouth County Board of Commissioners.
