        Jersey Proud: Rutgers University sophomore hopes to make 2028 Olympic flag football team

        The NFL honored Allison Gandlin this year as one of two flag football players of the year.

        Flag football will be added to the Summer Olympics in 2028. There is a student at Rutgers University who is hoping to be on Team USA.
        Allison Gandlin is a sophomore. The NFL honored her this year as one of two flag football players of the year. Over the summer, she was on an 18-and-under team on Staten Island. She's one of the big reasons they won a national title.
        Gandlin had an interception in that game that shocked many. She took the ball away from the receiver.
        Gandlin is an engineering student at Rutgers. She helps out with the Rutgers football team in their video department. But it’s on the field where she is making New Jersey proud.
