What happens when Polar Express meets Jersey Proud? You get “Operation Toy Train” - an effort to get toys to children in need.
The train has been rolling through New Jersey and the tristate area for the last few weekends.
Donated toys were loaded onboard for the Marines Corps Toys for Tots charity at every stop. Last weekend, the train made stops around North Jersey in towns like Rochelle Park, Hawthorne, Wyckoff, Pompton Lakes, Vernon and Sparta.
Nearly 22,000 toys were donated just last Saturday alone. That's a new record for the group. And nearly 45,000 toys were donated this month and last. Another new record.
