Linden High School gave the traditional pep rally an academic twist this month by holding the spirited event to fire up students for the second half of the school year.
Former NFL players Keith Davis and Germard Reed addressed the crowd of about 1,400 at the school auditorium, emphasizing themes like taking responsibility and finishing strong.
Reed closed the rally by saying, "Don't be average. Don't be good. Be beyond great."
