Two Brooklyn men are accused of carrying out a series of burglaries targeting homes in Fairfield's Greenfield Hill neighborhood, where police say expensive jewelry was stolen while residents were away.

Police say they were investigating several break-ins in the area when evidence led them to 40-year-old Levan Aleksidze and 47-year-old Mamuka Chaganava, both of Brooklyn.

Investigators say the men were arrested in September after license plate reader cameras detected their vehicle while they were allegedly planning another burglary.

Aleksidze and Chaganava have each been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary. Police have not released additional details about the investigation.
