A gunpoint robbery led to police car chase in Brooklyn and ended with a BMW on someone’s front yard.
It happened around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday on East 21st Street near Quentin Road in Sheepshead Bay.
Police said the incident started about 2 miles away, when six people robbed a clothing store located at 1400 Flatbush Ave.
Investigators said four members of the group got into a getaway car and led officers on a chase.
Surveillance video obtained by News 12 showed the white BMW crashing into a brick barrier outside of a house on East 21st Street. The video then shows four people running from the car, which had Connecticut license plates, and officers running after them.
“I didn’t know what was going on,” said Shirley, who lives nearby but declined to give her last name. “I heard screaming and yelling! I started calling my two neighbors, ‘Let’s go out and see what’s happening!”
The car landed on Fay Nissenbaum’s front lawn.
“I’ve got neighbors calling me from blocks away,” said Nissenbaum. “[They said,] ‘Hey, we drove past your house. Cops all over. Everything OK?”
No one was hurt, but Nissenbaum’s neighbor, Mollie Madar, said it could’ve been much worse.
“We have children in the neighborhood,” said Madar. “We have people walking on the streets. Anybody could’ve been in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
Police arrested 50-year-old Selassie Bourne, 23-year-old Justice Bourne and 26-year-old Christopher Profit - who are all from Brooklyn.
They face a list of charges, including robbery, grand larceny and reckless driving.
Police told News 12 that they’re searching for three other people, but the NYPD has not yet released their identities.
