It would be the dream of a lifetime for a dancer from Glen Cove. TaRea Galatro is competing for votes to win singer Ciara’s “Dance Icon” competition.

After a series of online votes from the public, the top finalists will be judged by Ciara and her choreographer.

The winner will appear in one of Ciara's music videos and win $20,000. Galatro said the prize money would allow her to return to Hofstra University.

“Things I’ve been doing since I was 3 years old...creating my own dances...in my house with my family, showing my inspirations, dancing with an icon like Ciara and also having the money to go back to school and continue learning more techniques and enhancing my style would really change my life,” said Galatro.

The Dance Icon challenge is a partnership between Colossal and the Why Not You Foundation to help youth reach for their dreams.
