Planning on spending the Fourth of July soaking up the sun at the Jersey Shore? There are a handful of places where you won't want to go into the water.

State officials issued a warning against swimming at five beaches in Ocean and Atlantic counties after water samples taken at the locations found traces of fecal matter.

The five beaches with water quality advisories include:

Beaches are closed if two consecutive samples collected at a bathing beach exceed the water quality standard, according to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s website.
