The family of a fallen Capitol police officer is condemning President Donald Trump’s Jan. 6 pardons.

Officer Brian Sicknick was the officer from South River who died of a stroke the day after the attack. The coroner said that all that transpired on the day of the Capitol riots played a role in his condition.

"The mob that attacked and assaulted law enforcement were not persecuted; they were prosecuted. The current White House administration is doing all it can to erase the stain from history,” says Kein Sicknick, Brian Sicknick’s brother. “They have and continue to present false and misleading statements regarding the facts of what happened leading up to and including that day."

New Jersey resident Julian Khater was sentenced to six years in prison for assaulting Brian Sicknick, although he was not charged in connection with the death.

Khater was released under the president’s pardons.

Democratic Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman is introducing a House resolution condemning the pardons.
