The mother of a Bridgeport murder victim expressed newfound hope Wednesday after learning the state of Connecticut is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of her son's killer.
Elizabeth Delgado, 58, stated her family only discovered the 2-year-old reward after recent media coverage marked the six-year anniversary of the death of her son,
Heriberto Marquez.
"We are so grateful to News 12 for doing a story with us last month because that report is what triggered state officials to get the word about the $50,000 reward - and now we have faith that the reward will be an incentive for somebody to come forward and help police sold my son's murder," Delgado said.
Marquez was shot to death on Iranistan Avenue in the summer of 2020 while walking home from his father's house.
Anyone with information that could help solve the case is urged to contact the Bridgeport Police Department anonymous tip line at 203-576-TIPS.
