The family of a 66-year-old Bronx man gathered in his honor after he succumbed to injuries suffered during an attempted robbery in Throgs Neck. Police say his attackers remain on the loose.
Wesley James’s family continued to plead for justice in their mourning.
"I believe in the law... I want the law to catch these criminals and get them off the street, so this won't happen to anybody else's family,” said James’s brother, Lelburn James.
On the evening of Sept. 18, James was approached by two men outside his home at 3821 East Tremont Ave.
Police say one of the men struck James in the face, causing him to fall and hit his head on the concrete, ultimately leading to his death. The other man went through James’s pockets and was unsuccessful at taking any property.
The NYPD asks anyone with information about this attack to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
