The FDNY says it received a report of a gas explosion in the basement of a six-story apartment building in Bedford Park just after 12 p.m. Tuesday.

Con Edison told News 12 that crews responded to the incident at 18 East 198th St., but there was no explosion.

It said there was an issue with a customer's boiler and "is with the customer for further action."

Authorities said residents were initially instructed to evacuate the building but were allowed to return shortly afterward.

No injuries were reported.
