A line of storms and rain will arrive in New Jersey this evening through the overnight hours.
This line of unsettled weather is narrow, but random rains could develop along it in an on-again, off-again manner. Beneficial rain will fall, but I wouldn't be surprised if there is a grumble of thunder and a few flashes of lightning to accompany some of the stronger cells.
The weather is warmer and muggier tonight and tomorrow. Nighttime lows dip to the mid- to upper 60s tonight. Tomorrow, after the morning clouds and fog burn off, we will be left with nothing but sunshine.
A southerly wind transports more humid weather up the coast. Mid- to upper 80s for daytime highs will feel slightly warmer tomorrow. A reminder of summer days we just put in our rearview mirror.
Saturday is a day we need to keep an eye on. It's possible there will be a line of nasty thunderstorms moving in. We need the rain. We don't need it all in a 10-minute time frame. Robust rain, gusty winds, thunder and lightning could all be in the cards for Saturday afternoon/evening. The second half of the evening is lovely.
Next week looks sunny and fabulous.
