Here’s what you need to know:
- It's a cool and clear start to the day. Temperatures are in the low to mid 60s.
- Today will be a stellar day with sun, clouds, breezy conditions and warm temperatures in the upper 70s. Humidity rises throughout today with rain to follow this evening.
- A cold front will bring scattered showers and possible thundershowers this evening through the overnight. The timing is after 10 p.m.-2 a.m. Flooding and severe weather is not expected. Friday is trending drier, warmer, muggy and breezy.
- Another cold front will move into our area Saturday evening bringing chances of breezy showers and storms. It will be warm and humid with highs in the mid 80s on Saturday ahead of the rain. The front quickly moves out on Sunday bringing a cooler air mass but keeping clouds around the city. Stay tuned for updates!
- It's been nearly two weeks since we've received measurable rainfall, that changes tonight. However, we're still under abnormally dry to moderate drought over parts of the city. If this current drought continues through the Fall season, this will impact the foliage vibrant colors, shorten the foliage season and bring a rise to fire weather conditions. We'll continue to monitor drought conditions over the next few weeks and keep you up to date.
- Temperatures will nosedive to the low to mid 70s through next week. Overnight low temperatures will be in the mid to upper 50s.
- TRACKING THE TROPICS: There's a tropical wave off the coast of Africa that has a high chance of development in the Atlantic by Friday or this weekend and become a tropical depression. This storm needs to be monitored closely once it forms, to see if it poses any threat to the U.S.
