Anthony Griffin was fatally shot by police Saturday morning after police say he stabbed three people at Grand Central Station.

According to police, Griffin was instructed to drop a machete he was holding multiple times and lunged at the officers before he was shot.

Griffin was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

News 12 spoke on Sunday exclusively with the mother of the longtime partner of Griffin about the incident.

Deborah Brown tells News 12 he often carried around a machete for what they claim is protection.

Griffin had been struggling mentally, and they are now demanding the footage to be released, Brown said.

“If he did that- they are saying he did this. I want to see proof; I want to see footage of it. I want to also say that maybe something did trigger, but it still wasn't right. They could've tased him.” she said.

NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch on Saturday said the encounter was captured on body-worn cameras.
