A driver was arrested after striking a Paterson police officer with a vehicle during the city's Dominican parade.

Police say the incident happened while parade activities were underway.

Authorities say the driver went through a barricade before hitting the officer.

The officer was not seriously injured.

Police have not released the driver's identity. Officials also have not announced what charges the driver may face.
