The New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY) activated its high-level snow response ahead of Sunday's snowfall which meteorologists say is expected to bring significant accumulations.
The snowfall would be the largest seen in the city since January of 2022. DSNY is expecting to drop over 20 million pounds of salt with 700 trucks and over 2,000 plows on standby from Sunday 7 a.m. to Monday 2 a.m.
Drivers are urged to stay home and off the roads if possible, and for those that must be out, to drop their speed and be on the lookout for ice.
The snow level is enough for delays to be expected on MTA busses and trains throughout Brooklyn.
