Orangetown crews clear roads and bus shelters of snow

Snow cleanup continued Monday in Rockland County as crews in Orangetown worked to clear not only roads, but bus shelters and sidewalks following the storm.
Orangetown is responsible for more than 200 miles of town, county and state roads, along with dozens of bus shelters that also need to be cleared.

Cleanup efforts are underway Monday in Putnam County following a powerful winter storm that dumped significant snowfall across the region.
In Mahopac, crews cleared the parking lot at the village center, leaving behind a massive pile of snow that highlighted the intensity of the storm.
The snowfall also impacted travel, with snow and slush visible along major routes including the Taconic State Parkway and Route 6.

Up to two feet of snow buries parts of Orange County

Residents across Orange County were digging out Monday after parts of the region saw snowfall totals of up to two feet, with cleanup continuing from Cornwall to Monroe.
Main roads, neighborhoods and even parking lots appeared mostly in decent shape as crews and residents worked through the aftermath.
All public school districts in Orange County were closed Monday, though private school buses were seen transporting students in parts of Monroe, Kiryas Joel and Blooming Grove.
The county’s state of emergency remained in effect, and drivers were prohibited from using county roadways unless deemed essential personnel.
