“It’s a lot of safety, it’s a lot of caution,” said Lester Baldwin of Caravella Demolition.
Baldwin says they will take down a little at a time as firefighters put out the hot spots. He added that there is no basement, so it will be easier to take down and clean up.

Caravella Demolition is in charge of demolishing the building that the fire ripped through Sunday afternoon.
“It’s pretty much gone, it’s incinerated; that was a very, very hot fire, and pretty much everything there has been incinerated,” said Baldwin.
Several businesses on the block were destroyed, but the impact is felt throughout the entire town of Belleville.
“Our job is to get it down safely so the kids can get back to school and so people can start the clean‑up and move forward,” said Baldwin.
“To all the fire departments and police departments that were out here, you did a fantastic job, and we are going to get this done for you so we can all go home and go to bed,” said John Caravella.
Donations, food and supplies from the community have been coming in for the crews that have been at the site since Sunday.
