Crews fought a fire at a public tourist attraction in Sussex County Monday morning.
They were called to the grounds of century-old Gingerbread Castle in Hamburg for reports of a fire.
Officials say the fire was inside one of the abandoned warehouses on the grounds. They say that the castle was not damaged.
“The attack plan was no one goes inside and basically surround it and get as much water on it as possible,” said Sussex County Fire Marshall Virgil Rome.
Officials say it took crews several hours to bring the fire under control. They say the roof of the warehouse collapsed.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known. No injuries were reported.
