After a warm and pretty dry September, October is starting with more seasonable high temperatures in the 60s, but don't get used to it. Temperatures warm back up to around 80 degrees in time for the weekend.
Long Island also needs beneficial rain, but we are still anticipating dry weather until some at least scattered rain arrives next Tuesday evening through next Wednesday.
Otherwise, cool mornings and warm afternoons will be the weather highlight Friday through next Tuesday. After that, it does look like temperatures cool down again starting next Wednesday.
