Connecticut Department of Education refuses to sign Trump administration’s DEI order

In a statement, Lamont and Education Commissioner Charlene Russell-Tucker said the state “already does and will continue to comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.”

Gov. Ned Lamont and the Connecticut Department of Education announced Wednesday that the state will not be signing the Trump administration’s DEI order.
In a statement, Lamont and Education Commissioner Charlene Russell-Tucker said the state “already does and will continue to comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.”
State officials have sent their decision to the federal government via a letter.
