A federal judge in New Jersey has granted a preliminary injunction that allows six international Rutgers University students to stay in the country.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement previously terminated the students’ visitor statuses at the behest of the Trump administration. The statuses were revoked without warning.
Rutgers President Jonathan Holloway said at the time that the situation was "chilling to the international community."
The judge’s ruling requires the United States government to restore the students’ records. It also bans the government from re-terminating their status without due process.
