Coney Island woman says bathroom is falling apart and has had little help from NYCHA management

A woman who goes by the name of "T" says her bathroom walls have been crumbling for the past two years due to ongoing leak.

A Coney Island NYCHA resident is in a two-year battle with NYCHA to fix a bathroom that she says is falling apart.
A woman who goes by the name of "T" says her bathroom walls have been crumbling for the past two years due to ongoing leak.
Now, a gaping hole sits above her bathroom sink, where a mirror should be, while plastic and duct tape are the only things holding pieces of the wall together.
T says management will make temporary repairs, but isn't taking the necessary to address the problem.
"They keep coming in, patching it up, plastering over and not finding out the real problem in the real issue that's going on," said T.
T says she and her kids feel overwhelmed and hope a permanent fix is made soon.
NYCHA sent the following statement:
"NYCHA staff are actively working to trace the source of the leak affecting this resident's bathroom walls. This requires coordinating access to other residents' units while also managing any further damage to the resident's bathroom. Please note, this work is currently in progress and NYCHA staff will return to the unit to finish the job to the resident's satisfaction. NYCHA encourages residents in need of assistance to call the Customer Contact Center at 718-707-7771 or submit work tickets through the MyNYCHA application."
