Residents at a Yonkers assisted living facility are OK following a carbon monoxide leak in their building.
Police say an alarm went off at the Five Star Premier Residences on Riverdale Avenue just after 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
Crews found high carbon monoxide readings on several floors and temporarily evacuated many residents.
Photos shared by the department show responders using chairs and blankets to keep residents comfortable.
Others were relocated to an unaffected wing of the facility.
Firefighters and utility crews worked to ventilate the building and locate the source of the leak.
EMS teams evaluated residents and monitored outside air quality.
Residents were allowed back inside after a few hours.
Yonkers police have not said what caused the leak.
