Double-parked cars lined Arthur Avenue Wednesday, with people running into stores for last-minute Thanksgiving Day shopping.
The Belmont neighborhood is known for its Italian heritage and that's exactly what people tell News 12 they went there for.
"I went to the Calabria store. I got pershuts, soppressata and all the cold cuts. I got my bread. I got all my homemade pasta," said Giulio Tata, of Belmont.
Tata was picking up baked goods at Morrone Pastry Shop, a decades long tradition for him. He says it's important to get a variety, so everyone is happy.
“Rainbow cookies, cannolis, sfogliatelle and some other great Italian pastries," said Tata.
Just down the block at Tino's Deli, more people were picking up their favorite Italian dishes.
The Delpolito's said they came all the way from New Jersey to pick up some items to bring to Thanksgiving.
Stores have different hours for the holiday, so make sure to check store hours.
