Brooklyn runner LaToya Chauntay Snell has run over 300 races, including 28 marathons and six ultra-marathons, challenging the stereotypes around body size and pace in distance running.
Starting her journey 11 years ago with the goal of weight loss, Snell faced unexpected health challenges, including endometriosis and PCOS, that slowed her down but didn’t stop her.
Instead, she found joy and resilience among fellow runners in the “back of the pack.”
Now a global advocate for inclusive racing, Snell works to ensure slower runners receive equal treatment and safety considerations at races.
Her journey has inspired many to embrace running at any size and speed, reminding them: “The role model you’re looking for is you.”
