As summer temperatures climb toward the 90s later this week, residents are finding creative ways to stay cool.

While the city has not yet declared a heat emergency, now is the time to plan ahead.

The city’s “Cool It! NYC” map highlights local options, such as splash pads, drinking fountains and shaded parks.

Libraries, including the one at Grand Army Plaza, serve as cooling centers, offering air-conditioned spaces and a place to relax.

Amber, from Prospect Heights, shared her strategy.

"I get in the shade every so often, a breeze like this also helps, and don’t forget air-conditioning!” she said.

Imelda, from Bed-Stuy, said she loves the heat.

“I don’t plan on staying cool, I love this weather," she said. "I thrive in the sun, so I will just be biking and enjoying the weather. I’ve been waiting for this weather!” she said.
