Community Board 10 voted overwhelmingly against Bally’s proposed casino at Ferry Point Park. Throgs Neck residents raised concerns about the casino, saying they don't want the casino in their neighborhood. "We have to respect the community. The community overwhelmingly does not want this casino, we have to respect that," said Max Zappone a lifelong Bronx resident. Bally's promises thousands of jobs, park improvements and free shuttles if the casino is built. Despite the vote, Bally’s is still in the running for one of three downstate casino licenses from the state.
