A local nonprofit is providing crucial leadership skills to hundreds of girls across Westchester County
News 12's cameras were rolling this week as 20 students from Port Chester Middle School completed a three-month after-school program with Girls Inc. of Westchester.
The students explored climate change and renewable energy - and even got the chance to make rocket launchers and wallets using recycled CapriSun pouches and Pringle potato chips cans.
Girls Inc.'s mission is to inspire girls to be Strong, Smart and Bold through lessons on leadership, community action and financial literacy.
Girls Inc. has served 325 girls from 10 schools across Westchester since last fall.
