        Bronx residents buy up ice melt, shovels ahead of Sunday’s snow

        The New York City's Department of Sanitation says there will be 700 salt spreaders and 2,500 plow trucks ready to roll out when the first snowflake hits the ground in the city.

        Residents in The Bronx flocked to their neighborhood hardware stores to purchase shovels and ice melt to prepare for Sunday's snowstorm.
        "I think it's important we stay ready. We don't know how bad it's going to be," said Troy Nicholas, of University Heights.
        City officials say the snowstorm is expected to bring several inches to the Metropolitan area followed by frigid temperatures on Monday.
        The New York City's Department of Sanitation says there will be 700 salt spreaders and 2,500 plow trucks ready to roll out when the first snowflake hits the ground in the city.
        City officials are urging the public to stay off the roads to assist snowplows.
