Trumbull Gardens - Bridgeport's biggest affordable housing community - received $1.5 million in funding on Christmas Day to expand its community center and build an adjacent athletic field and parking lot, said state Rep. Fred Gee, who worked with Jillian Baldwin, CEO of Park City Communities, to secure the funding.
"We are so happy to have brought this funding to Bridgeport on Christmas. It's a wonderful gift for the people who live at Trumbull Gardens, and for all Bridgeport residents," Gee said.
The funding comes from state bonding dollars, Gee said.
