A Bridgeport church held a Women's History Month celebration on Saturday. Rev. Charlie Stallworth, of East End Baptist Tabernacle, said he learned from his own mother about the important role women play in the world. He says that lesson helped to shape his view of women's rights and women's role in history. "During Women's History Month, we have to be so aware and so progressive in making people know about the roles that women have played. Rosa Parks, the mother of the Civil Rights movement, and you can just go down the list of the important roles that women have played," Stallworth said. He added that his Sunday sermon will include a message about the importance of Women's History Month, and why it's especially important for kids to hear that message.
